ACK!! Air Bag Help, Please!
Eeek! My earlier message today was cut off. No wonder I got no
responses...
My 1990 200 is beached while my mechanic trys to get the air bag de-
activated so he can replace the starter switch on the beck
end of the ignition key cylinder.
HELP me locate the connector which must be disconnected to de-
activate the air bag!!
The mechanic's AllData CD-ROM says it's under the driver's side knee
bolster - but it's not. My bentley says it's under the center
console - but he can't find anything that looks right.
Three questions:
1) Is that connector COLORED? Perhaps RED?
2) Where IS the darn thing???
3) Is it any particular shape? Round, square, etc?
Please reply directly. He's been stumped for a week and I want the
car back.....THANKS.
ALso - there was a question today about using a car trailer. Call U-
Haul and get one of their "Auto transport" trailers. They're double-
axle and carry the car with all tires off the ground. The ramps
pull out and the whole deal works superbly. I just used one and they
are a GREAT trailer. They're also cheap!! Cross-state is usually
about $40. 10 days and 2K miles cost me $179. Fair deal, I'd say.
