The noise usually lasts for about a

I too have a squeal after such timing belt, water pump work that happens
occasionally. It mainly appears as I accelerate at a around 1500 - 2000 rpm
and then is gone. Like Craig, I would appreciate some input. It sometimes
seems that I can smell like get some burn't rubber smell ( no not the
tires!!!). I took off the timing belt cover. It appears to be a little
shiny on each side but the natural color in the middle third. I also have a
rebuilt rack and pump on car around the same time.
