Air Bag Connector FOUND.
Thanks to various list-members, and especially to Eric Fletcher and
Jeff Goggin, both of whom spent some long-distance phone $ to help
me.
The air bag connector on the @1990 200 is bright red, about 3 inches
in length, round in the center and squarish on both ends. It is
SUPPOSED to be under the carpeted panel on the driver's side of the
center console, held to a metal brace with a nylon tie. It is a
distinctive color and size.
The Bentley directed us to this location, but the AllData
CD-ROM has an error, saying it was under the driver's side knee
bolster. Nicht correct!
In my case, the connector was completely buried under other wires,
and found on the *passenger* side of the console, tied to the metal
side brace. Even the silly factory workers evidently couldn't decide
where to put it! It took a LOT of searching and moving wires to
find it.
So if you're ever looking for the air bag connector, seems like it
might be hiding almost anywhere in that center console area. Hope
this helps someone else.
