Forgive me if I read this wrong but it sounds like you did pretty well on
the deal ... how were you scammed?
The problem I've had with insurance companies is when they DEMAND that used
parts be used -- after all, it's nothing but a 10 year-old car, right? --
and absolutely refuses to pay for new parts.  You have some control over
this when it's your insurance company but when it's the other guys, the only
recourse seems to be legal and involves attorneys...  :^(
