Touring Car : All Wheel Drive Solution Too Late

I admit Quattro is part of the "unfair advantage" that Audi has, but from
all I have read, reliability is a key issue as well. The Audi cars just
kept going last season. Unfortunately the awd was blamed completely and so
it'll soon be outlawed due to the closed minded judges of the issue.
Too bad it is too late in the season for Audi to pull a little experiment.
What if Audi fronted 2 cars during the season, but instead of both Quattro
they were split. One would be quattro and the other front wheel drive. If
they consistently won anyway, would that not mean Quattro was not the
entire magic behind Audi's success last year, and that other issues were
involved like reliability and driver skill, and maybe even power
superiority. It might help get some of the weight restrictions waived this
year on the awd.
Unfortunately it is too late for Quattro. That's a shame, because it would
appear the other teams have adapted quite well and are competitive again.
Competition does that...not weight penalties. Anyway, that's my 2 cents-G
