C-GT on 93S last night??
Calling all Listers!
I was solo in my girl's black Mitsu Eclipse last night merging onto Rt.
93 South in the Methuen(MA) area when I spotted an Alpine White Coupe GT
cruising along in the fast lane. I caught up to it, checked it out
extensively(drawing weird looks from the driver), and then paced it
until I realized I had my Haynes manual on the passenger seat. I decided
to explain myself by pulling along side and, with my interior light on,
letting him see the cover of my Audi 4000 manual. That resulted in a
flash of the highs and a 90 MPH companion for the remainder of my trip!
If only my baby was..... :-( :-(((
The Coupe was missing its rear spoiler and had silver wheels and an
analog dash, thus it was not a Commemorative Design Series like mine. I
say that simultaeneously with disappointment and happiness because I
love seeing another proud owner of a rare edition OF a rare car but I
also hate to see a nicer specimen on the road. I could not see rear
discs nor did I notice the color of the side mirrors, so I can't be sure
it was NOT an '87, although I think all '87s had a digital dash??... My
guess is it was an '85.
Regardless of the year, I want to know if its driver who paced me and
signaled like a pro was a lister!! Just the other night I made a
list(longer than I thought!) of all the C-GT owners(or at least the ones
I could remember) on the list and the only one in the area of Methuen is
Glenn Kaufman, but his IS a Comm. Design and I doubt he'd be travelin'
South at 9 p.m. away from his residence....unless.... ;-) So I am
curious to see if this was my first random encounter with a lister!
Thanks for the BW......
