No flashing
This list never ceases to amaze me! I just discovered that Audi drivers
don't flash (headlights) in CA, too!
I've been driving around the East coast of FL, and sometimes flash or wave
at other Audi drivers (including one 90 driver who I see almost every day on
the way to work, coming the other way on a 2 lane road, about the same place
every day, too.) - and NO ONE responds! Zip. Zilch. Nada.
Sometimes I get a blank stare, as in "Who is THIS wierdo?", sometimes they
are totally comatose and don't even turn their heads!
Is it possible that WE, the enthusiasts, who even know how many cylinders
our engines have (Five, I think. It is five, isn't it? I recently had a
fairly competent domestic car mechanic tell me that NO ONE has EVER built a
five cylinder engine, and furthermore it was impossible to do so. I popped
the hood on my 5Ks and invited him to count. He declined!) - now where was I
- oh, yeah, that we who are actually _interested_ in our cars are in the
MINORITY? Do most of these Audi drivers simply regard them as transportation
appliances? What gives?
Best Regards,
Mike Arman
PS: 5 cyl engines: MB, Audi, isn't there a H*nda 5?, a bunch of 5 cylinder
radial aircraft engines, US, GB, Soviet, Italian, more, and the grand prize
of them all, a 5 cyl radial motorcycle engine - cylinders formed the spokes
of the front wheel, intake via carb hung on end of hollow axle - I am not
making this up - was the Megola, made in Germany, mid 1920s. Musta been an
Audi motorcycle - 5 cyl, front wheel drive. No word on Pentosin for lubrication.
Pardon the incoherent rambling - tough day at the salt mine today.
