Ur-Q oil loss mystery...

I was discussing the situation concerning my Ur-Q's sudden appetite for
Mobil 1 with a friend and found myself surprised when I realized that it's
ONLY on the highway when this happens ... around town, it consumes at most
one quart between oil changes every 3333 miles.

So, why would a car that's not leaking (at least there's never any oil under
it whenever it's parked) suddenly start consuming oil at the rate of 1000
miles/qt. on the highway when it consumes oil at less than a third of that
rate in town?  My friend suggested it may have something to do with the
turbo seals leaking ... does anyone have any other ideas?

Oh, boy ... yet another reason to spend money on this car!  ;^)
