Volvo AWD

Someone wrote about the new Volvo AWD...I just saw one on the road, and
noticed that it was an inch or so higher than the stock 850. This was a
car from Quebec...they're not officially in the US yet...the local Volvo
dealer is expecting a handful shortly, and quantities in the fall.

Yes, like the Audi, it has a 5 cylinder. It is also a low pressure turbo,
with 190 hp, and an automatic trannie. No manual available in the states.

Very few people will care about the differences between the Volvo and Audi
AWD systems. Marketshare will be won or lost on whether people want to buy
a Volvo or an Audi...you're either predisposed to one or the other. Nobody
will make their decision based on the differences in AWD...except us
fringers.

Oh, and btw, I hear MB is bringing in an updated AWD platform, vastly
different from the 4Matic. Read that in one of the car mags last week...

What strikes me is how many *great* cars there are to choose from. Now if
only I had the *money* to go play :)
