no fuel without throttle = engine dies.
Well my rebuilt head was installed along with the repaired exhaust, all new
gaskets etc. A little high temperature silicone is sealing the cracked
wastegate diaphragm until the new one arrives from Orin.
On the way home the engine started fine and ran fine when cold, but one it
warmed up after about 20 minutes. Whenever my foot was off the gas there
wasn't any fuel to the engine at all. If I put in the clutch the revs would
go to zero and the engine died... releasing the clutch the engine would be
bump started and work fine ... on throttle. The engine ran fine except for
the exhaust leaks prior to maintenance.
At a stop light I had to continue to blip the throttle to keep it going...not
easy.
Once the engine died it almost never would restart! you'd just have to crank
and crank and get your foot down when the engine fired just a little.
Something significant has changed since every thing was apart. The injectors
were soaked in cleaner prior to reinstallation with new o rings and top seals.
Though they may be the original injectors.
This does seem a little like the problem I had previously about a year ago,
when stopping after the engine was hot...I had to wait for it to cool before I
could restart. Cleaning the throttle plate apparentl fixed that problem?
Does anyone have an answer to what my problem is?
Time is running out to get the car going before Mt Washington!
TIA
