Using the MSRP for everything, I figured my car in 98 2.8 would be about
$3500 more than my 97 turbo. The difference is the sport package. For
the 97 its $1000 and the 98 is just $400.
The sport package is my only regret for not waiting on the 98. But so
far, no one knows for sure that the sport seats of the 97 will be
available in the 98. (or do they?)

Back in February when I ordered the turbo, I was not overwhelmed with
the difference in the 12v over the turbo. Given the difference in the
30v over the turbo, I would have to give it more thought.

I guess I was sold on the turbo quattro when I saw the Secrets of Speed
and Hans Stuck explaining left foot braking and 'moving forward like a
skyrocket...' Chipping to get 200hp doesn't hurt either.

Also, part of the problem is the dealers. They aint dealin'. Because of
the popularity, the so called discounts have shrunk. Some have come up
with $1500 'protection packages' and 'availability factors' above the
sticker!
