RE: Naming schemes (WAS: Why They Didn't Build the Avus)



You're mixing internal platform codes with model names -- of course they
don't correspond.  "Ax" is the compact car platform (with the "x"
indicating the generation), "Bx" is the midsize, "Cx" is larger, "Dx" is
the full-size (aka Audi V8 and A8) while A0x is the sub-Golf class.
These codes have never  been used by the factory for marketing purposes,
and thus are irrelevant to any model naming discussions.
