RE: Buy A4 or wait for Synchro Release in the US?
I agree about the sporting character -- a major reason why I now have a
'97 A4 1.8T quattro instead of waiting for a new Passat to replace my
previous '93 Passat VR6. The Passat will also not have AWD available
except on the fully loaded V6 model.
That said, the new Passat is a major leap in terms of build quality and
chassis/body integrity from the previous generation, and is now very
close to the Audi build quality. Some of the materials and details are
still not quite on par, but the differences are much smaller than in the
past. And if you need a bigger back seat, the Passat does provide more
room for less money ...
