This is the lates update on Audi's future products from August 25, 1997
issues of Automotive News.

A4:  A 165-horsepower V-6 version will be introduced by year end in
Europe and will reach North America late next year.  An S4 performance
model with a 265-hp twin-turbo 2.7 liter V-6 will debut at the Frankfurt
auto show in September.  It is not known if it will come to the US.

A6:  The sedan will be joined this winter by an A6 wagon in Europe.  The
wagon, the Avant, will reach the United States in late 1998.  The wagon
is said to form the basis of anew sport-utility that would rival the
Mercedes-Benz M class.  Late next year Audi plans to introduce a new V-8
powered S6 performance model that uses an upgraded version of the 4.2
liter engine found in the A8 flagship.  The 350-hp S6 could come to the
United States in 1999.
