When I pulled my radio the other day, I noticed that all wires were
surrounded by heavy foam insulation (about 4 mm thick).  Perhaps dealer
removed for better access to A/C wiring.  Or maybe he moved wires around
such that rear line-out wiring (which by the way is low voltage, low
wattage and thus probably overly vunerable to environmental
interference) is close to the power bus/harness.

65k miles and never had problems with A/C - works fine at any temp.
