87 5KCST totaled but not dead

My 87 5KCST had a bad experience with the Colorado hail a little over a
month ago.  The insurance company estimated $3770 damage and says the
NADA value is $3200, so, its totaled.   I tried to convince them that it
was worth more but they argued the 200k miles on the odo cut the value
by $1100 over top book.  Somehow my claiming that Audis just start
running good by 200K wasn't taken too seriously.
They have offered to sell the car back to me for $1000. Actually the
hail damage isn't too bad and is only apparent in bright sunlight.  I'm
sure I'll buy the car back and put the balance into some good headlights
and engine tuning.  I love my Audis and would hate to give up my
reliable and fun to drive commuter. 

What do you think?  Am I getting a reasonable deal?
