Ghost in the climate control

 In the 89 200q set on auto at 65/ a/c and the thing blows nice and cold
With a strong fan.
Within a minute or so the air flow shifts to the derfost and floor vents
...huuh.
By using the high / low fan speed I push the low button and the flow
returns to the a/c vents. Low fan dosent cut it at 85 in a suit. so I go
back to high same thing happens, but this time I have to go to econ to
get the vents to return.   Just one of those Audi things. Part of the
whole appriciation thing I think. However... anyone have an
idea?????????
