Re: new Audi A6

I just read the Car & Driver article last night in bed: '98 Audi A6 2.8Q, 0-60
9.7 seconds, .25 mile 17.5 seconds. Absolutely non-stellar. In fact, I believe
those times are almost identical to my old '86 VW Golf with 5-spd and a
scorching 85 bhp. What are the '97 A6 numbers, something like 10 secs/17.8 secs,
isn't it? For some reason, I seem to recall that my 100 non-q with 5-spd was
timed at 9.2 secs to 60, so it's not like Audi's taking a backward step here,
it's just status quo.

As far as the V8 is concerned, I thought it was the engine of choice for the new
S6, no?
