Differential Lock...in Theory

The reason for 2 90Qs.....to compare theory and still be stumped.

90Q #1 - Pressing diff lock results in movement of the lock in the rear end
but the green light in the differential graphic does not light NOR does the
relay click. The bulb is good.

90Q #2 - Doing the same results in lock movement, a relay click and a green
light in the differential lock graphic.

Do I have lock on 90Q #1 or is the green light in the differential the only
confirmation that the lock is working. Is there any way to determine that
the diff lock is working other than waiting for snow.
