A first car for my son - update

Hi,

First I would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to all of you that
responded. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

My son and I read and reread all your letters and we appreciated and
enjoyed your comments and suggestions. My son agreed that the 4kq would
be the better choice. He discussed it with his friends at school, and
even they agreed.

We found a 1985 4ksq (a Colorado car with 132k miles). Pretty good shape
really, just needs some TLC, new tires, some minor repairs and someone
to appreciate it and take care of it. Even came with a Bike/Ski rack and
a Bentley. We feel pretty lucky.

By the way, Phil, you do not need to worry ;-). This 4ksq found a good
home and will be maintained and respected. It won't be abused, as my son
will be paying for all costs, including purchase, repairs, maintenance
and insurance. He is really a terrific kid, very high level of self
esteem, very sensible, responsible, and respectful of his property and
others.

Thanks again to everyone who responded and to all of you that make this
list possible. It really is a blessing to all of us that enjoy our cars.

BTW, my son works, part time, at the Capital Hill Alfalfa's (a local
healthy grocery store). So, in a few months, if you see a Blue 4ksq, in
good condition, in the parking lot stop in and say hi. He will really
get a kick out of it.
