Inconsistent idle in '85 4KQ

	I have just recently purchased an '85 4KQ. First, I love it. But,
it has a few problems. One thing that I'm most concerned with right now is
the idle speed. When I first start it, the engine will rest at the normal
800 rpm. Then suddenly, after about 5 seconds, it will fall to about
400-500 and then rev itself up to 1800 rpms. It will do this for about
1.5-2 minutes, then stop, resting at 800. This isn't jsut attributed to
cold starts either. Actually, the weather here (MN) has been quite warm.
The engine has never stalled but it has been close. Any ideas or
suggestions as to where to start are greatly appreciated.
