RE: Ordering a new A4TQ has evolved into a habit

I'm feeling increasingly happy about having purchased a '97. While I
would have liked to have the new gauge faces, I can get the cargo net
from parts -- the crappy tires are already gone (shocks/springs will be
later), and I'm quite enjoying my Anthracite sport seats. :-)

As for the tailights, the all-red versions were actually first
introduced in Europe for '97, and there are people who prefer that look,
so you may well be able to do the swap. Post something on the a4.org
BBS when you have the car.
