Re: Motor blown on my 4kcsq :-(



I broke a timing belt in my '87 4Kq under hard acceleration. This motor is
non interfering - the worst that happened to me was the tow bill and a
weekend to replace the belt & water pump.  Can't imagine how you could get
parts to poke through this motor short of downshifting into first or second
from fifth at a high rate of speed. If a lot of rubber has been removed
from your tires, you will know.

You should be able to find a used 2.226 short or long block, if the head is
ruined,  fairly easy and cheap.
