Snow in Denver

And another thing! We had two feet of snow here friday and saturday. My
wife was across town at her sister's with the quattro. So SHE got to
HAVE ALL THE FUN driving to the store, etc. It was humorous. She'd
call me up and say "We went to get some supplies and I'd just lock the
rear differential and drive right out." She particularily enjoyed passing
various suzaroos and suv's that were stuck or crawling. All this with the
one-year-old in the back. As I've told the child many times, the quattro
is his when he turns sixteen.

Ah, well, I had to resign myself to getting around in my fine 2wd Audi.
Which, by the way, is an exceedingly well balanced snow car in its own right.
Yesterday afternoon I drove through the un-plowed snow-ruts to my boss's
house to drop of a cd-rom. His jaw actually dropped when he opened the
door and saw me standing there. He hadn't been able to get anywhere in
his Montero. It pays to grow up in NH and learn how to drive in the stuff.

Ahh, such fun! You know, I think that German cars really do enjoy the snow-
they seem to want to pull harder and show off their straight-line stability
in truly bad conditions. You just feel a stiff body and suspension working
together to get you to your destination, all the while smiling and
balancing the car through turns with the throttle and patience.

I wish it snowed out here more often!

Audieu,

Dennis
