Throttle settings out of wack.

As you can see, I didn't find what I needed in the archives. I was pretty sure that someone had posted a response to someone who was complaining that
their rpms where dropping rather slow, making quick gear changes difficult (this was what I was looking for). More on this in a minute.

Car = '86 5kcsTQ (built 1/86)

In messing around trying to figure out what cause my confounding, compounding problems earlier in the week, I noticed the idle switch wasn't set right.
I adjusted it, but I seem to have opened up another can of worms. Even with the idle screw all the way down. the car idles so high that the deccel. fuel
cutoff switch is reached. This drops the idle back to about 1100rpm, but only for about a second or two, then back up to 1200 and... on and on. The
only reason the car idles below 1200rpm is because of the fuel cutoff. If I apply just enough throttle to open the idle switch, the car revs to about
2500rpm. This is making my commute through the city a bit of a hassle.

Another thing, the revs stay high for about a second after I lift off the gas before dropping back to idle (quicker now that the idle switch is set
properly).  Any ideas?

Arryn.
