The most easily obtained replacement that I know of is the Motorola
MPS4250 - about $22 from Allied Electronics (www.allied.avnet.com).
This is a 2.5 bar sensor, so you should remap your EPROM to use it.
(It will throw a 2222 error code if you don't.)

Some of the QLCC suppliers have done this and can supply/install
the EPROM/sensor.

I doubt that Radio Shack would be a good source... for example:
LM3914 is $1.99 at a local electronics store, something like
$15 special order from Radio Shack!
