As far as I know, the MAC11 doesn't need the hall sensor once it
sees the timing sensor during the hall sensor window. However,
it may get confused as to which cylinder is which in the knock
sensor code and use the wrong lookup table when determining
if the current cylinder is knocking.
After starting, the ignition is totally driven off the flywheel
- a pin determines 62 degrees BTDC on cylinder 1 and the ECU
counts flywheel teeth from there. It gives 1.33 degrees resolution.
If I get chance, I'll take another look at the code later today.
