Clutch problem?

The first sign is usually that you can't get as good a shine on your right shoe 
as on your left.

The master cylinder is mounted above and parallel to the steering column.  The 
hose from the reservoir is actually very short.  The boot on the master 
cylinder, and the bracket in which it sits, have considerable capacity for 
retaining leaked fluid - as does the foam on top of the cardboard panel above 
the pedals.  The only way to tell if the master cylinder is leaking is to feel 
around the area of the boot - but getting a finger in there is a desperate 
struggle.
