Re: turboing

 # Just out of curiousity, is it possible (feasible) to add a turbo to a non-turbo

... anything is possible Shane, the question is is it worth doing?

Taking an existing engine and modifying intake and exhaust to plumb the turbo
in and work out all of the details takes a lot of work. Since there are no
aftermarket Audi turbo houses you're pretty much on your own. Given the fact
that there are a lot of old 5000 turbos out there, I'd think that the prefer-
red methods would be either to shoehorn a 5000 turbo engine in place of the
original, or to look into superchargers if you want to bump up your existing
engine. Since a supercharger does not attach to the exhaust it should be a
lot easier to add to an existing enine. Seems to me I've been seeing ads
lately for blowers to add to a VR6 engine ... perhaps you could start by
looking into them.

HTH!
