That was the EM I was talking about.  It did not occur to me that the 2.3L
EM on my brother's '87 CGT was different than the EM from an Audi 80/90/100
2.3L engine, but Bruce Bell saw a 2.3L downpipe that `appeared to be no
better than a 2" dia. downpipe compared to the 4kq's 2.5"'. 

The downpipe on my brother's 2.3L (NG) CGT seems to be two pipes that
merge into one, down near the cat.  I don't recall what the EM itself
looked like.  Perhaps Ed or Rick or another lister with the 2.3L CGT
can check for us.
