Inboard disc brakes

I've never had a car with inboard front discs, but all of my Rover P6
sedans (2000TC, 3500S) have inboard discs at the rear. I won't say the
pads are difficult to change but I do speculate the engineer that designed
them had some unresolved sadism issues. When having to do anything around
the final drive unit you might as well gear up and drop the final drive and
do everything that can be done at one swell fop and be done with it.
Having performed this task alone about eight times I can testify that one
not only learns the joys of self-sufficiency, but one also has the
opportunity to fabricate an entire new language borne of frustration and
rage, envoking an array of medieval dragons (Grendyl's mother among others)
and various underworld figures. I can say, truthfully, that should you
ever have opportunity to experience the same... don't.

It's not the process of replacing the pads/U-joints/calipers/handbrake
cable... it's the weeks of recuperation at the "farm" become expensive.
