I too have the oil in the intake. What I'd like to know, and what I've
posted many little posts to the list about, is whether a whistling
sound can give away a worn turbo? In the morning there is a high
pitched whistle from the car. When I get to about 60 or 80 kph there
is a whistle from the car, it jumps between intensities, goes away
as I back off and bring the car to a stop and will usually only
start going when I get to about 80 (or even 60) kph. Has anyone
encountered such a whistle? As help I have to mention that a) the
CV joints are recon'd and were driven for 2 months on open CV boots,
b) the alternator makes scratchy noises and has had the bearings
replaced about 3 months ago, and c) the Y-joint on the idle valve
hose which runs into the top of the valve cover is split and might
be the cause of the early morning warm-up whistle, but can't explain
the whistle when the vehicle is warm. How to determine where the
whistle is coming from when the car is at standstill? Could it be
some valve leaking?
Sorry to shove this into this thread, but the 2 things might be linked.
