'92 S4 questions

Season's Greetings to all:

A few days ago I posted a message about the final disposition of my
lamented quattro, and I appended some S4-related questions. In the hope
that there may yet be someone who can respond to the S4 questions, I beg
your indulgence as I repeat them:

During the interim, I've briefly driven a '92 S4 that is for sale
(pearl/grey). Presently with 2nd owner--bought 2 yrs ago with Audi
Assurance program.

It's got a Hoppen chip, s-steel brake lines (not sure about any brake mods)
and 80K miles on the odo. Seems very clean inside and ran well (showed 2.1
bar on the boost gauge--is this what's expected from the chip?). There are
a few paint chips, but also I'm told that there has been a fair amount of
refinishing done under warranty because of defective clearcoat. Common
problem?

Anyway, TIA for any response to my questions about a potential tranny
problem or any other heads-up regarding the S4.

BTW, would still like to find a clean (and close to stock), medium mileage
'91 200q--but probably would limit my range of interest to within a
moderate (300 mile?) radius of central New York state.
