'92 S4 questions

Shortly before Christmas I asked:

I'd have to conclude that experience with the '92 S4 model is still fairly
limited on the qlist. I've received one reply to my S4 question, and that
qlister had no tranny problem up to 92K miles with his '92 S4. So, anyway,
did I only imagine that I'd read a couple of postings in recent months that
mentioned there was a commonly encountered "weakness" in S4 transmissions?
Unfortunately, I couldn't locate those postings in the archives--after
about 2 hours of searching.

BTW, just how rare is the '92 S4 model in the USA? Does anyone know if it
was imported in anything approaching the low numbers of '91 200q?
