Shane, this doesn't fit all your symptoms, but several years ago when
the headlight switch on my '85 4KSQ was in the process of burning
itself out, it suffused the interior with a difficult-to-identify but
eyewatering stench that might be described as grassy plastic. Check to
see if the dash immediately above the switch is unusually warm.
