I ignore recirc except at my job, where I try to make the recirc function
quieter. All it does is help the HVAC system to perform better in the
first few minutes of warmup (winter) or cooldown (summer).
The early HVAC control heads didn't offer nearly as much flexibility as
the new ones do. Most cars today allow selection of Recirc any time at all.
The early 5KCSTQ control head doesn't even allow me to choose the airflow
mode other than Bi-level, and vent and auto. As long as everything
works though, it seems to work well, so I leave mine in Auto.
