Another option you might consider is hiring a driver. A friend of mine
worked as a driver last summer. She took the car from here (upstate NY) to
somewhere out in California. It worked out well for all parties concerned,
she needed transportation for her road trip and the owner needed someone
reliable and safe to drive the car. I believe a broker acted as a
go-between (to handle insurance costs, guarantees, etc). She took a flight
back from California.
