4KQ Engine Oil Temperature

>From your email address I'd hazard a guess that you're at Northwestern
in Chicago. And you've had the car since November, hence, it's been
cold. It isn't nearly as cold in Atlanta where I live, but I can think of a
number of winter driving scenarios where my '85 4KSQ doesn't rise
above a notch or two. In warm weather or when it's been driven for
prolonged periods (especially in stop-and-go traffic or long highway
runs) it runs hotter. It's been this way for close to 130K miles with no
apparent harm to the engine. So maybe there's nothing wrong with your
gauge.

I'd be curious to know whether your driving has been mainly short trips
around town. And does your water temperature show normal warm up
progression?
