Need A4/A6 impressions

As Pam (my SO) and I get closer to deciding between an
A4Q, 2.8, 5sp, or A6Q (both sedans), the lack of snow here
allows test drives only on dry roads and I've yet to drive a
98 A6q; only FWD was driven. The drives indicate both
are acceptable - read she wants the A6, I want the A4.
To help in deciding, I'm interested in finding out their snow
handling/driving characteristics. Any lister BTDT i.e. tested 'em
side-by-side in snow would be great.

Pam's concern is her ability to safely control the A4 in snow.
The A4's low-end power makes her think she might get in trouble
(remember, she wants the A6) . In all honesty I too, could see myself
"bent out of shape" in the A4 with one application of max gas,
min. brain engagement on white stuff. My gut says the A6 will not/
is unable to let that happen as easily as the A4 would/could.

BTW, extent of >2WD experience is in our 86 Jeep G. Wagoneer
and we do ski.

If anyone has noticed "quirks"/ nasty habits in either or, alternatively

wants to heap praise on one, the other or both; your experiences
are appreciated. As always, if the list won't benefit, pls private
email.
TIA,
MJ Murphy
