WHERE is it located? I have looked and could find where it is on the engine, also could not find anything in the bentley? So what am I looking for specifically??

it's coming form the top or mid section of the engine, it may be the
brake boost. The handy backup is driven by a push-rod. Rod
wears, makes slack, starts to "tap".
When mine did it, several (reliable?) folks said I could simply
unbolt the unit, take out the rod, and replace the unit. Did so
about 75,000 miles ago. Haven't noticed a thing since it's
departure . . .
