Clutch Problems '88cstq

My Buddies '88cstq's clutch is failing him.  When he pushes in the clutch
pedal it will stay on the floor.  If he pulls the pedal back out by hand it
will work again.  However, if the pedal is left in, he can't change gears or
anything.

Does this sound like the Clutch Master cylinder, Slave cylinder, Spring ( I
would think it would have to be more than the spring due to the
symptoms...), the cyclomyflopingieger?
