Re: Sales People ( was new meat[ugh])

I think Osman Parvez stated the case for the car salesperson, very
well. I have had my share of experiences with idiots, in car stores.
my son works in this business, and while he says I'm a car sales
person's worst nightmare, I don't think that's the case. I go in
equipped with the invoice price; I prefer to start out working with the
fleet mgr, AND SAY SO, so as not to screw a salesman out of a
commission. By and large, these guys work hard, long hours, and unless
they are very good, and have a good customer base, they don't make a lot
of money.
I bought my A6q from a fleet mgr, because I've known him for a long
time, and I could go in and offer a figure of invoice plus, and work
from there. I did the same thing on my wife's Jeep. I called the fleet
mgr, and asked how much over invoice for a specific vehicle, he gave me
a figure, I said fine. That's the way to buy a car, not all the BS of
back and forth with the sales mgr, etc.
The scheme of " value pricing" is a load of crap. They say it's not
negotiable; everything's negotiable!
I guess the point is, don't make generalizations; there are good sales
people, and there are idiots who are in for the short haul. Time, and
how they achieve will sort them out.
Cheers
