The ABS system uses a pump ... which has a pretty high current supply,
perhaps that is what you are hearing.

While we're on the subject of ABS diagnostics, I posted a few details
from my experience on an '88 5kCSQW on 2/18/98 ... not a lot of info,
but if anyone is interested they can check the archives ...
