quattro buying tips?

Hello all,

     I am in the process of looking for my first quattro.  I'm in the 
market for an '86 or '87 4000 Quattro.  Does anyone have any advice or 
buying tips.  Is there anything in particular that I should be looking 
for when shopping for my new quattro?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
