Which is the Right Bomb for me? '90 V-8

The bomb finally went as predicted. Purchased a new OEM part from the
good folks at Autobahn of NH. Upon receipt by my mechanic, he noticed
that there are 3 ports on the boss of the new bomb and only 2 on my
original one. He is concerned about this being the correct part.

According to the folks at Autobahn, the Audi part number is "443 612 061
H". The box is marked with what I belive to be the OE manufacturer name
of the bomb "LEMFORDER METALLWAREN West-Germany". There are two part
numbers marked on the box "617 550 001" and "443 612 061 H". The "617
550 001" number is also stamped into the accumulator body.

Physically comparing each one, there are two noticeable difference: 
(1) One of the ports on the new bomb has what appears to be a plug
installed leaving the other two for external open connections;
(2) The stem of the new bomb is approximately 1 inch longer than the
original

Has anyone BTDT on the V-8 that can provide some words of wisdom?
