Re: Tires, Tires, Tires
You might want to consider Michelin XGT H4. This is an H rated tire with
respectable handling. They have worked great on my '89 90Q.
However, just purchased a set of Michelin MXV4 for my Mazda 929. GREAT
TIRES! H rated. Good handling. Good wet and dry traction. Excellent
ride for a H rated tire. Supposed to also have low rolling resistance for
improved MPG. Much better all around tire than XGT H4. The newest version
is the MXV4+. Available at Sam's Club and TR.
A word about Pirelli tires. NEVER buy Pirelli tire made in USA. Probably
one of the worst quality tires you can buy. These tires are made in an old
Armstrong Tire plant. Their tires made in Europe are still worth
considering.

: Hi all!
: Given the lively discussion on tires that has popped up lately, I have a
: question. My '91 200q has 205/55-16 Blizzaks for snow and 225/50-16
: D40M2s for the track/street driving. I find the D40s a little to
: aggressive and noisy for daily driving and would like a set reasonable
: street tires. Given this lists' reaction to the Michelin MXV4
: characteristics, they are off my list. Does anybody have an opinion on
: the Pirilli P6000 "summer" tire? This is not an all season tire, which
: is fine by me, and it was ranked higher in ride/track ratings than the
: P6000 SportVeloce by the Tire Rack evaluation. The size I'm looking for,
: 215/55-16, is on sale at TR and I am tempted to go for a set at the same
: time that I'm getting another set of the D40s for future track fun.
: Thanks for any thoughts!
