headlight upgrade for 93 100csqw

Audi folks,

Noticed my passenger hi-beam is out. Went to the parts store and found the
replacement for $8 (or $12 for the long life version). But as long as I have
to replace one, perhaps I should upgrade both, as I have always thought the
light output on dark roads rather whimpy.

The original is 12V 55w/45W which I think refers to high/low beam wattage at
12V. Is there an easy upgrade that you have used which is not tremendously
more expensive than simply staying stock?
