An Audi filled weekend
First off I want to thank everyone who replied to me tranny problem. My
wife actually noticed the problem and I haven't been able to replicate it
yet(Makes me wonder if someone was in 3rd instead of Drive but I am going
to take a look at the coupling this coming weekend). I got really nervous
about a transmission job for that car since we just did the timing belt.
Other Audi news:
Met Osman on Friday at his place of employment (before I heard about the
tranny problem) had a good long look at the 98 A6 plus pickup a dash bulb
for my 100S. (Incidentally Osman, parts gave me the wrong bulb. I needed to
solder in a 12v micro bulb for the temp gauge illumination( yeah so I'm
anal). Mom needs something to replace the 88 9000S she has and I have been
pushing the Audi. The 98 A6 is gorgeous (not a great fan of the terracotta
interior but the rest of the car is nice.)
Next day proceeded to migrate up to Lee, NH in the Rodeo (Wilson and Jodie
don't get the privilege to ride in the back of the Audi like Tucker does
Andy's A6QW). The house hunting fell through (thank you God) so I went
with a friend who is mechanic at Ed Bryne's to look at Audi's there(again
for mom of course:) nice black S6 sedan. Ended up driving a 95 A6Q off
the lot down to mom in Nashua for her mechanic to look at plus for her to
drive. Did the RT. 101 Grand Prix with a friend trailing me in a rented
Legacy AWD - he tried to catch me at the I93-Rt101 interchange but after he
hit 92 mph the Subaru had nothing left. Needless to say I love the car and
so does mom (sorry Osman) (less the pinstripes). This was the last year
with the electric manual lock rear diff. anybody have any problems with
this?

"I added Militec-1to the tranny and within one day, the shift problem
disappeared and has NEVER returned! Same result for an occasional
shift problem in my 1985 Chevy pickup with 350 tranny. I can't
explain it, but I'll be a believer from now un unless the tranny
melts down."
My buddy the mech. has a 92 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo, had noisy tranny
problems and a service bulletin from Chrysler said the fix was to add this
stuff. He hasn't had any noise or problems with it since.
That's it, sorry for the BW but I had a busy Audi weekend
