Re: book values
KBB shows retail values (the ones people complain about being too high),
and Black Book shows wholesale values. A smart person will use them
appropriately, trying to buy at wholesale if the seller is not bright or
desperate, and sell at retail if the vehicle commands it and the buyer will
pay it. You certainly will not find dealers willing to give you retail,
but you also won't be able to find many people willing to sell you their
vehicle at Black Book prices.
