When mentioning the alignment problems on your S6 you said the alignment
shop said it was within spec. I went thru the same scenario with my 5ktq.
Wore out two
sets of tires in no time at all, and the car handled like an old
cheverolet.
Then I finally got the car to my brother's shop in Ohio, ( I'm in
Atlanta) and we set 
it to the preferred setting, and not just to spec. I learned that there
is a big difference.
Within spec is used by techs working on commission and needing to get the
next 
one in. ( It's called green and go ) preferred settings take longer but
are definitely
worth it. Mine was aligned using the preferred settings 33,000 miles ago.
Not one
bit of alignment wear to date, and the car handles great.
